Martijn Fokker rejoins our design department
This is a man who loves the impossible. After seven years, we welcome Martijn Fokker back to the Comtest family. “I have been working at Comtest for 16 years and thought it was time for something different, but there’s something about these chamber projects that kept me coming back,” says Martijn.

This is our new colleague, Corné van der Plas, on a mission to elevate our IT capabilities. Corné: “I’m a man of many skills in automation, and the Comtest team is eager to benefit from them”.
Corné has been taking on many of Rik de Groot‘s IT responsibilities for about six months. Rik de Groot: “We have been growing and professionalising so much in the past years that I cannot combine my management responsibilities with handling our IT challenges.”
Corné is an experienced IT specialist passionate about both implementing professional IT solutions and ensuring they benefit users. Corné: “Setting up a system is already a significant effort, but I enjoy staying on afterwards to observe how people work with it. It means I need to help them get started and listen to their needs. I’ve been in this business for nearly 30 years, which makes it easy for me to adapt to changes in hardware and software.”
So, is your entire life centred around computers and the digital world?
Corné: “On the contrary! I used to run a record shop in The Hague during the 2010s, and music will always be my passion. However, not digital music: I don’t have a Spotify account or any MP3 files; I only have a huge vinyl record collection. For my work, everything is digital, efficient and as quick as possible. At home, I enjoy playing a record that lasts around 10 to 20 minutes, so I often need to get up to select and play the next one. It’s an active, analogue and tangible way to listen to music.
