Martijn Fokker rejoins our design department
This is a man who loves the impossible. After seven years, we welcome Martijn Fokker back to the Comtest family. “I have been working at Comtest for 16 years and thought it was time for something different, but there’s something about these chamber projects that kept me coming back,” says Martijn.

“Do you know there are at least seven good reasons to secure your test chamber’s future?” In a series of five posts, our specialists share trends and developments for 2026. This week, Steven Nijenhuis, our new Operations Manager, emphasises that it’s a sign that intelligent people take good care of their chamber and its equipment.
Steven: “There is a persistent misunderstanding in the business that chamber maintenance is little more than wiping dirt from the door’s critical parts. We sometimes encounter chambers with serious issues due to neglected maintenance. But there is much more to it than just maintenance; the key is to prepare and maintain your chamber for future changes as well. Therefore, we are developing a Chamber Life Cycle Support Programme, which we will launch later this year.”
Is that programme part of your worry-free mission?
Steven Nijenhuis: “Yes, but I see it as a sustainability mission, too: with proper chamber life cycle support, companies will be less surprised by unexpected malfunctions, wear and tear, and changes in testing objectives. Sustainability is more than recycling or minimising material use; it’s also about extending product life as long as possible. Well-balanced maintenance minimises potential downtime for your chamber. Timely renewals of critical parts and upgrades are part of our programme. Finally, with our Chamber Life Cycle Support programme, you will maintain your chamber’s warranty. There are maybe a dozen reasons to enter the programme.”
